A termite inspection is the first step in termite management

Termites and the termite swarm have been part of Sydney and NSW for millions of years. Also commonly known as white ants they are resilient and persistent, being found, on average, in every third Sydney property.

Sydney and NSW conditions are particularly suitable for termites. The Australian standard recommends that a termite inspection be carried out every 12 months and more often in high risk areas.

Proven Pest Control will beat any quote on a Termite treatment.
We also provide payment plans where you can pay off the treatment in installments.

The inspection process

Each Inspection should take between 1.5hrs to 2hrs

When a termite inspection is carried out, all accessible areas of the home or building are accessed. In each of the areas inspected, the inspector is gaining a knowledge of the risk factors, any previous activity and corresponding damage and is assessing what methods of control might need to be put in place to ensure that no infestation happens in the future.

An inspection by Proven Pest Control Termite Inspection Sydney Division will always be accompanied by a report which will detail all findings and recommendations. It will also contain any recommendations for ongoing management.

Inspections are a must before treatment

A full inspection should be carried out to a building before any treatment for termites is undertaken. This will allow the technician to properly ascertain where any termites exist before the treatment starts.

Thermal Imaging

The technology of thermal imaging is just one tool that may allow our Termite Inspection Division to pick up variances in surface temperature which could suggest to an experience inspector an area of termite activity. Thermal cameras will only be used when suspected termite activity is found, in certain conditions and may only be used during treatment of an infestation.

As they are not 100% accurate and only cover a small area, they may not be used during the visual inspection. Most models will not penetrate into voids behind wall cavities.

Active termites maintain their galleries at a nice warm temperature. When there are concentrations of termite activity they can even change the surface temperature of the wall lining enough for the thermal camera to see it as a warm spot. However, if the ambient temperature of the wall is the same as the termite workings, the termite activity will not be detected, and it is therefore not recommended for thermal imaging to be carried out when the ambient temperature is greater than 23 degrees Celsius.
